The Bathtub Test
During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, "How do you determine whether or not an older person should be put in an old age home?"
"Well," he said, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub."
"Oh, I understand," I said. "A normal person would use the bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup."
"No" he said. "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"
I think I'll take the bed near the window!! Cause I sure didn't think to pull the plug!!! LOL. Just thought I would share this because it added a little laugh to my day! =)

Gettin in the groove!
Mondays are so hard for me to get goin!! I'm usually still a little sluggish from the weekend. If I could have Mondays off that would be absolutely fabulous!! =) Even though I'm always slow going on Mondays, I always enjoy my weekends and I'm super glad that I have a job to go to on Monday! God is good!
This weekend I didn't do anything on Friday night, which was nice... and I had the house to myself for just a little bit, that was also nice! (I was going to go to a youth rally but I worked over a little and I was really tired...so I just took the night to relax.)
Saturday, I got up and made me some 'required' coffee! =D Then I washed the dishes, straighted up the kitchen, swept and mopped, gave my chihuahuas a bath (i need to get some picutres of the lil stinkers!), then I went over to my moms and went over some scrapbooking stuff with my sister. Caleb will be a year old in September and I wanted to get his scrapbook done before then! {I haven't even started yet! YIKES!} After that I went back over to my house and worked on my room...organizing my closet, because it was getting WAY out of hand, and then I got stuff together to go to my friend RaJeana's! I had a great time over there w/her! We always have a blast together!
Sunday, I went to church w/Jeana...we got out a little early so we went on to Bristow. Church was good like always! I LOVE my church! =)
Last night everyone was getting ready to go to Ohio and I was wishin I was getting ready and goin w/them! =( But, life goes on...as usual! Lol.
Okay, so me and my mom have been talking about starting some kind of diet... that's about as far as it's gone though...talking and "planning"! It's not doing any good though because I have seriously been in this baking mood! I'm an easy baker type girl! Lol I don't do complex...the most complex I've done is a layered pineapple cake, which by the way was delish! ;) Maybe in the future I'll try more complex things! =)
First I made a coffee cake that was SO simple and OH MY WORD, SOO good! :)) Most should have all the ingredients on hand!
Coffee Cake
Ingredients:
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
heaping tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Directions:
In a large bowl crumble all the ingredients together except the milk and egg. Scoop out 1/2 cup of this for the topping.
To the rest of the crumbs, stir in the egg and milk. Pour into a greased 8″ or 9″ square pan and sprinkle with the saved crumb topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min.
Then I seen a recipe on another blog for a Cinnamon Cresent Twists... Holy Moly, another awesome, easy dessert! They're best served warm but are still good cool. =)
Cinnamon Crescent Twists
1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent rolls
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Glaze:
1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons hot water
Separate crescent roll dough into four rectangles; press seams to seal. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter and cinnamon; spread over two rectangles. Top with remaining two rectangles. Starting from a long side, cut each rectangle into three strips (I use my pizza cutter to do this). Twist each strip several times; seal ends together.
Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375° for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.
Immediately remove to wire racks. Combine glaze ingredients; brush over warm twists and enjoy!
I also made some very good Lemon Cookies! They were VERY easy and VERY good! Kinda rich though!! If you like lemon, you'll like these! :D
Ingredients:
1 box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® Lemon cake mix
1/3 cup shortening
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg
1 container Betty Crocker® Whipped or Rich & Creamy Lemon frosting
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375°F (350°F for dark or nonstick cookie sheets). In large bowl, beat cake mix, shortening, butter and egg on medium speed about 2 minutes or until blended.
2. Onto ungreased cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart.
3. Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until light brown around edges. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet; cool completely. Frost with frosting. Store covered.

My quote for the day:
Prepare your mind to receive the best that life has to offer. -Ernest Holmes
The more positive we think the better life will turn out! We can't keep focusing on all the negative things in life.. It'll just leave a person feeling discouraged and eventually cause them to become depressed. Life has a LOT more to offer then just negativity.! So, wake up every morning and prepare yourself for all the good things that life has to offer! (Praying every day and reading your bible will help w/that! =] )

Learning to Love..
It's been said that you can never truly love others to the fullest until you first love yourself to the fullest. This has been hard for me to do... I'm the one who is always hard on herself and is never happy with what I've been given. I always think things could be better about me and have a hard, hard time just loving myself...The verse says "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these." So if I'm constantly picking at myself and trying to find things to improve because I'm never quite satisfied, how can I possilbly not be doing that to others? And how I can ever really be happy and how can I ever truly love others if I'm always so negative towards myself??
So..here's something I wrote to myself and thought I would share.. =)
"I’m not perfect, nor will I ever be. I’m not the most beautiful person, but I’m beautiful in God’s eyes. I may not have the "perfect" body, but I am healthy. My imperfections are clearly visible. It’s through our imperfections we become who we are. God made us in his image and made us to be exactly who HE WANTS us to be! We are a creation made by him; if you do not love yourself then you aren't loving one of God’s creations. To think you’re ugly is thinking one of God’s creations is ugly. God is the maker and ruler of this universe… he doesn’t do anything without putting his heart into it first. Love yourself."
All this stuff is so true and hopefully one day I'll believe it without a shadow of a doubt!

Yikes!
I came home from church and fireworks last night to this.. =(
Poor boy... =( He looked awful! His eye was swollen shut and he had a lot of swelling around his neck and jaw.. Mom took him to the vet for me to day and we found out that he had been snake bitten! Either by a rattle snake or copper head! I feel so bad for my boy. =/ I'm glad he'll be okay though! =))
A week at camp!
My good friend Jennie and I were the counselors at a youth camp for the young girls from our church and couple of other churches last week. A couple years ago we went to a youth camp and I was the "counselor" for our girls because I was the oldest, but I so didn't feel like the "counselor" probably because they were all my friends... and I didn't really have to do much. However, this week wasn't quite the same. I had to much more.. lol.. go figure.. the girls were only between the ages of 10 and 13..for the most part all of the girls cooperated great. I'm really glad that Jennie and I went even if I came home EXHAUSTED!! lol. It was a great experience. =) I should have gotten more pictures but I didn't.. =/
